This course is very popular with both early years’ settings and individual practitioners. It outlines the importance of policies and procedures, why we need them and why it is crucial that all members of staff work within them. This course is ideal for less experienced practitioners or those who would like to update/refresh their knowledge in this important area of practice.

To complete the Programme of Study you will need to pass the three assignments.

There is no formal exam and the certification fee is included in the course fees.

To pass this course learners must pass several assignments. These are completed after navigating through the corresponding lessons and writing your answers to assignment questions. Once these have been read and marked by your personal tutor, feedback and marks are provided to students which contain helpful tips to improve work in future assignments.

All of our students are assigned a personal tutor to guide them through course materials, mark their assignments and assist should students have any queries. Tutors can be contacted at any time throughout a course by sending a direct message within our online learning system.

All of our tutors are childcare experts and have extensive knowledge in Early Years as well as Health and Social Care to give fantastic feedback and help to those learning new skills in the care sector.

Nursery Worker Income

The starting salary for junior or trainee nursery workers is from £10,000 to £14,000 a year, depending on age.

Qualified and experienced nursery workers can earn between £15,000 and £22,000, depending on responsibilities.

Nursery Management Income

Nursery managers can earn between £22,000 and £30,000 a year.

Deputy nursery managers can earn around £18,000 to £22,000 a year, and nursery room leaders may earn between £14,000 and £18,000 a year.

Primary School Teacher Income

The main salary scale is from £22,023 to £32,187 a year (£27,543 to £37,119 in inner London).

Playworker Income

Full-time playworkers can earn between £12,000 and £20,000 a year. Managerial staff can earn between £25,000 and £30,000 a year.

Childminder Income

The National Childminding Association (now Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) Membership Survey 2012 reported that fees charged by childminders ranged from £3.63 to £5.42 an hour for each child, depending on the area of the country.
